The Livid live bootlegs

Okay peoples, this is the second forum users' only treat: horribly unofficial and poor-quality bootlegs of a show at Club 279, including the new song At the Seams. Unlike the quality of these recordings (no offence to our resident bootlegger - it's incredibly difficult to make a good live recording), the performance is great. (Chris' excuse for the lack of guitars in part of Egzit is that the sound guy didn't mic the amp properly. You may be the judge of that. )

These are MP3s (right click, choose save target as) of between 3.5MB and 5.5MB. Get downloading. (They're in play order)

Egzit
The Day I Understood
Watch it Die
Sink
I Could Fall
At the Seams
Shaded
Reckless

And tell us what you think.

Thanks to Reivax and Allison.

Yikes, thanks for the harsh critique. I've heard (and recorded) shows at much lower quality than this one. It's far from perfect but a smidgen of appreciation would be nice.

I'm afraid I don't go to concerts with the intent of making pristine recordings.

I didn't actually know who made the recording. I just wanted to make it clear that it's not going to sound amazing -- I don't want anyone to be disappointed.

It's nothing like being there, but still great to hear these. In case anyone wants some background on these recordings, this is the same performance that spawned the "An amazing night to be Livid" thread.

Good job Allison.

someone with some pull should talk to the band about getting a gig at the rivoli. when you play there the sound guy/girl [usually girl] will burn a mastered copy of the show played and give it to you by the time you pack up your gear. she charges, but its never more than $20. a great recording of a good set is worth more than that.

Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record: you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

I assumed you could just ask to get a copy from the sound guy, I always make copies for people when they ask, not incredible quality, but damn good.

Thats an awesome idea man!! even if the livid were to charge for a copy of it! it could help them save up cash for their cd!! they could sell it as a live album if the quality is there!!!

This was a pain in the ass to get these songs on this site, so I'm glad everyone likes them.

I know the quality isn't that great, but any fan of the livid will be excited to hear them. Especially if you live too far away to actually be able to see a show.

I have just relistened to the tracks. This show really blew me away when I saw it live, and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to hear the bootleg, because often you will realize the performance wasn't nearly as good as you remembered it. I have to say, though, that this is not the case here. I am listening to it and am amazed by how much it sounds like I am listening to a CD. We can often take for granted how much work it takes to do this. I also don't think that Christian gets enough props for his backup vocals, which are totally sweet on this bootleg.

I can't agree with you more. That's exactly how I feel. I couldn't imagine what this would sound like if this was really good quality. It would blow your mind, I'm sure.

Was this your first time seeing the livid live, too, Rob?
