Good Charolette Video
Hey all,
I was flicking through the channels when I stopped on Much to see what I thought was going to be another shitty G.C video. To my surprise, this song
actually had meaning and the video was very well done.
The topic of the whole song/video was the issue of suicide. This showed me that not only do they care about their fans/other people but, they really
but time and effort into their music.
This has finally given me tremendous respect for them as both artists and people. I no longer look at them as tatooed freaks with no talent. However
as genuine people, with a miniscule level of talent and caring hearts
Has anyone seen this? What were your thoughts on the video? I have no clue what it's called and I'm still not a fan of their music!
one last show.

since I haven't really seen it, I can't say much about it. However, I'm pretty sure alot of the times when a video is put out,
it's not really thought up by the band, it's the director's vision. But if it can have that much impact it must be pretty good.
I never minded Good Charlotte, but I'm not that negatively opinionated about music, anway. Good for them.

Ya I heard they wrote that song after one of their friends commited suicide. I never really liked Good Charlotte, but that song has so much meaning. I
think that that is a great message to send to people. It's such a sad video...
"The last thing he said to me was "have a great time with Grandma, mom. I'll see you on Monday." And I'll be waiting for
monday for the rest of my life."
^ That's so sad . It makes me depressed.

I know this is late...sorry about that..
The song is called "Hold On" and it speaks about suicide.
A really cool thing about this video is that at the beginning and end of the video it shows the phone number for the KidsHelpLine in Canada, just in
case the video "sparks" something in you and you feel a reaction to it..whether you know someone who has passed away from suicide, or are
thinking about harming yourself...
The song in itself is nowhere close to just how powerful the video can be.
There's also some really dramatic chords in there during the instrumental break, which just add a lot of emotion to the message, if by this time
you're already "moved" by the video..
Plus, it is exactly at this time that the video focuses on the surviving victims/friends and relatives, and they are all crying.
The chorus goes as follows: Hold on, if you feel like letting go.
Hold on, it gets better than you know.
Don't stop looking, you're one step closer
Don't stop searching, it's not over
So..pretty much is just about holding on, and knowing that things will eventually look up , and to try and keep you from just wanting to take the easy
way and killing yourself.
As personal as this is, I feel that it should be partially shared.
Being someone who was extremely near to killing herself, over something extremely stupid (now that I think back on it) the video really touched me,
and it did sorta have an effect on me.
Definetly worth watching. Don't just listen to the song though...because truly I feel that the meaning of the song falls on the video.
you won't let me down...

I think it was a really good idea to put the KidsHelpLine phone number in the video. If something is bothering you, you should really talk to someone
about it. Keeping your problems bottled up inside of you isn't going to make them go away.
I just wish my friend Nicole had seen this video before she killed herself...maybe then she wouldn't jumped infront of the go train...I wonder
if the video actually affected those with suicidal tendencies.
I think that sometimes people forget that without the bad times, we wouldn't be able to appreciate the good times.
Paige.

I think the people that work the phones for these hotlines are amazing people. I think I would take it all home with me and I'd end up having
to call the hotline.

agreed, i used to think they looked hardcore but didnt have any skill (emo)...but they've really matured a lot and you can tell by their video
and lyrics. Tragedy and suffering always allow people to see and appreciate things...i tend to write lyrics when im upset, it really puts things into
perspective and despite my anger/sadness there's always something to good left
