Been away a bit.

Been away a bit.

So as many of you have probably not noticed, I havn't been posting in like the last week or two. This is because for some mysterious reason my computer wouldn't let me log in. Bart and I have racked our brains for literally a few hours and havn't been able to solve the problem. Before I couldn't log in on my parents computer, or my personal PC. However, now I'm in on my parents comp - I'll have to wait till Sunday to get back on my computer at my apartment.

Has anyone else had a strange problem like this? Please share if you have, I'd like to get to the bottom of this.

Well, once Jeff began talking to me...he magically was able to log back in.

So, since I'm so self-centered...I'd like to think it's because of ME that he was able to log back onto the site.

The exact same thing happened to me about a month and a half ago. It wouldn't let me log in for about 2 weeks, and I didn't why, so I had Jorge and Deedee posting for me. But one day it just let me in. I still don't know what was up with that though.

The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.

i'm pretty sure it's not a fault of the boards or the site, since i tried logging in as jeff while he couldn't, and i got in fine. i also gave jeff another temporary login and he couldn't get into that one either. it could be to do with one of those internet thingies i don't understand, probably involving words like "ports" or "sockets".

Yeah, I didn't think it was the site either, because Jorge could log in as me.

I'm on my parents computer right now though. The real test will come on Sunday, like I said, when I'm on my personal computer.

it happened to me a while back, the whole "login" screen just dissapeared... it was really weird, so i tryed it on a different computer, and it worked, and then i came back to my computer and it worked again, but i have no idea how it happened...

It has only happened to me ONCE.
And it was for like 5 minutes, then it went away and let me log on.
It scared me shitless, because I thought I had been banned for the flaming I've been responsible for haha.

those instances where it's down for one try, or for 5 minutes, are usually when i've fixed or updated something. if you try and get the page just when i am updating it you'll get an error. and then sometimes my fix doesn't work straight away so i change something else before it starts working again. still have no idea what is up with jeff's problem though. jeff, download a decent browser - http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ - it's free and very very similar to IE. the only two bad things i can say about it are that it changes all your html, php, jpg, gif, xml etc icons to the firefox logo (which can be rectified pretty easily, but still a pain as you don't even get to say no to it) and you can't attach pictures to posts on these forums using it (or at least i can't)
