Favorite Movie
I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite movie of all time is. Might give me something to watch considering most of the movies out now
don't seem that great.

I think most people agree with donnie darko
How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?

The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she
wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect
woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.

Probably Donnie Darko, though Shawshank Redemption is outstanding as well. Sleepers is another great film. Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking
Barrels are both good in their own right (I love the fact that multiple plotlines are running but it's not hard to follow, done well). Memento
is a good movie as well.
Then there's some of my Aussie favourites, Chopper and Romper Stomper are both really good.

not answering. none of the above though.
Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am
amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record:
you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet
had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him
of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are
now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

Mr. Dobalina, if you could maybe send me a PM explaining a bit about that movie to me. I mentioned a long time ago that I didn't really
understand the movie, and I believe at the time you offered to explain it to anyone that wanted to know.

the fact of the matter is, there IS NO deeper message. it's just moving pictures on a screen. dont get me wrong, i liked the movie. but for
all of the people who try to extrapolate all of these theories on nihlism, existentialism, and other theories of jaded, self-interested lost hope, you
are wrong.

Donnie Darko is bollocks. Everybody always raves about its many levels of meaning and its (copius, and somewhat ridiculous) amount of apparent
symbolism. In reality the director has ripped ideas from linguists such as Chomsky (the whole 'cellar door' fiasco) and various
philosophers. All of which amounts to jack shit in the film's narrative I hasten to add, and is just put there to make dumb people who suck the
film's cock feel clever.

It's just a religious thing the director explains what the movie is all about pretty much in the deleted scenes commentaries. Sure, it
isn't a grand message, but it's still a message. Next thing you know you're going to start telling people A Clockwork Orange has no
meaning.
