I was just wondering if you are going to release a new version of Sixteenth with the new band? I really like that song...

Living in a hole, it's hard to get for what you asked
the hardest part of having a good day is making it last
it seems that everywhere i turn i'm still a step behind
im going nowhere slow and i think im losing my mind

Growing older everyday is not a simple task
It's even harder when your happiness is your most worn mask
Striving harder to evolve and keep up with the rest
The apathetic push you down and make you second best

I look to you to get me up again
The hardest part is admitting I need a second hand
If only I was meant to work with my ears and hands
What's coming down would be beneath me

It isn't easy living up to everyone we see
but being human we're so stupid we wont let it be
the pressure rises as we struggle here on our own
to the point when you're only happy when you're all alone

Props not necessary - I got Chris to write it out for me to stick on the site. We haven't managed to get Jeremy to write out the lyrics to the two songs he wrote the words to on KotC yet though...

some of you probably already knew this, but i only found out the other day that sixteenth was the first song chris ever wrote. and he was actually 15. it has nothing to do with a 16th birthday, i guess his birthday was just coming up when he wrote it. don't you think this is abolutely crazy for a first ever song?

When you mean it's the first song he ever wrote, do you mean the lyrics or the guitar? Or both?

I just listened to the song again...very impressive. I guess another question would be, how long did he play guitar by this point? And did he just write the basic rhythm at that age? Assuming that the fills and leads came in much later in the studio. Either way, the man is beyond talented, as we all know..

I ask the question about how long he has played, because I'd like to think the first song I wrote is pretty good, but by that point I had already played for, like, 3 years. If you're interested, Bart, I could email you my powertab version of my first song.

Thanks for the info, btw.

I just sent you the email, Bart. You may have to change the sound of the guitar to "bright acoustic", because I had the songs on some stupid synth type sound.

I'd just like to point out that it's

"Striving HARDER to evolve and keep up with the rest"

but other than that it looks right.

that is crazy that he wrote that song at... my age. i always wondered why it was named "Sixteenth"... and i also wonder why "Emanon" was named what it was. anyone know why?

Bart, Jeremy wrote "In Your Face" and which other song?

oh one more thing... you guys, i dont think they will re-do any of the old songs except maybe the ones that they play live. but maybe years from now when they are famous, they will re-do them... twould be sweet!

All I know is that Emanon spelled backwards is No Name...that probably doesn't really help much, though.

very interesting... could be that they couldnt come up with a name, so they called it "no name" backwords... although very unlikely.
