I couldn't tell you what I was thinking during that, but it's probably along the lines of what PIS said...or, "God! I never want this to end". Funny stuff. I didn't see that photo on Shifty's page, I don't know where you got it.

Ok, set list from what I can remember (probably not in the right order):

Intro
Shaded
I could fall
Watch it die
Egzit
At the seems
The tide
"test run"

That set list is the right order I think... although At the Seems might have been after I could fall... Not sure though.

You can see my elbow in that picture! I was standing right beside Rievax. Just behind me, the guy with the camera (whose face is also hidden) I am pretty sure is xLivid, and the girl to the left of that is my girlfriend. Good stuff.

Just so everyone knows, the basslines have not been changed at all. Rob just plays them exactly as I tabbed them out. We didn't use bart's tabs, they were crazy and were probably made for flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Yeah, I know with other bands a single set is fine. Who's to say you're always going to be playing with other bands. You could always do a solo night with 2 sets, 8 or 9 songs to a set, you've got about 25 songs, so yeah, 2 sets shouldn't be too hard. Even just have a few screw around songs or little on the spot improv numbers. Then there's also the fact I'm never going to see it, so my opinion means shit, that kinda sucks.

The problem is finding a club that will let you do 2 sets. Clubs don't care about the what the bands want, just the bottom line liquor sales at the end of the night. For a band to do 2 sets, that would mean that there would be one less band playing which means less people buying booze and less profit for the club. So therefore generally more bands equal more sales. They realize that I'm gonna have the same amount of booze for a 2 set show as i would if it were only one set. So why would they have only 100 people each drinking 2 drinks when they can have 200 people with 2 drinks each. And if you're a band and don't like it, theres not much you can do... theres tonnes of bands that'll jump at the chance to take your place. So it's take what you can get when you can get it. Hope this all makes sense... I tend to babble when i get on about Clubowners/Opperatiors. lol

Although i do agree, an evening with The Livid would be an awesome night. I'll definetly be trying to make it happen.

2 sets in one evening is probably one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. Sorry for being so harsh but it just doesn't make logical sense.

The Livid is not a big enough band to pull something like this off on any sort of large scale, no matter how good they are at this point in time.

It's no fun for kids who come to see other bands play at a show.

Didn't they play 2 sets at the halloween show? I remember reading something about an all ages show and a 19+.

I think so, they might've played at the end of kiddie time and into the 19+ though, in one large set. But we have to be careful of our new bassist. The harmful UV rays projected by the lights may burn his newly shaved head. Thus, giving his 'electrical' playing abilities. Or cancer.

one last show.

Oh well, I guess Canada is different but I'm used to bands playing multiple sets, that's all. Whether they be big names, small bands, or just covers, it's rare to find a band here that plays for 45 minutes and then goes off stage. However, on the other side of the coin it's rare for there to be say 4 bands in one night, so I guess that'd explain it, since people wouldn't go to one show if it was only 40 odd minutes, so the bands compensate for that.

Everyone played two sets. Just like Rievax said, all ages followed by 19 plus.

didn't two bands play once each? i.e. wasn't the opening band different for each show? rob, you and jeff arrived late so maybe you two didn't hear the first band of the all ages show.
