Vulgar Humour

Lately I've been trying out this new thing where I try and be as tasteless and vulgar as I can when I'm around people.
I just wanted to know what everyone thinks of this.

Is there a point where you can go too far with a joke? Does it matter how far you go as long as everyone knows you're joking?

It seems to me that a lot of people will object to things I say despite the fact they know I'm joking (could be just cause I'm being so utterly terrible in my humour).

What does everyone think?

There are definetly moments in which jokes just go too far and you cross the invisible line...and then people get mad and all hell breaks loose.

Vulgar humour is one thing, being offensive to others with some type of purpose is a different thing though.
It really all comes down to who you're like that with.

Say you said it to me....
Unless I knew you were being sarcastic, I'd probably be somehow offended or annoyed..just because you have the "nice person" kinda frame in my mind. (I don't know you well enough to be able to confirm that, for all I know you could be the baddest guy in town)

But hey, try it out. See how many people laugh, and how many get pissed off..Then, whatever the reaction of the majority is, stick with that.

If you've just started to be vulgar, then you gotta stick at it and people will learn that its your normal humour.

People have accepted that I'm disgusting and say the most awful things. I think its great, makes me and others laugh.

I have been told, I go over the top sometimes, but hell its funny ! I have no limits, I'm an asshole.

I guess if it is uncommon in your nature to be like that, then all of a suddon you sort of change your personality or sense of humor, anyone that knows you a little bit will be freaked out or whatever.

Sometimes even if sarcasm is as plain as day, it can offend or confuse.

As long as you aren't too out of line, it shouldn't be a big deal, though. Anything and everything has potential to offend somone. I mean, you could make a fart joke to someone who's friend died from lighting a fart on fire. Not the best example, but you know what I mean.

My comments are far across the line. Most are about aweful tragedies like Cecilia Zhang, the World Trade Centre, and the Oklahoma City Bombing.

Okay see, crude humour like that would just be blown out of proportion by some people.
It would really really depend on who you'd use it with, and how well they know your personality.

And what exactly are you trying to figure out by doing this? I'm a bit confused. I mean, it's no mystery that people will be offended and shocked.

You can't please everyone Jeff...as much as you may offend others you have to be who you need to be and people need to accept that or move on. That's the way I figure it anyway.

a. do you go out of your way to make a vulgar comment, or do you throw it in when the situation presents itself?

b. do the people around you understand and enjoy the quailties of 'satire'?

c. dead baby jokes went out of style with the death of emo.

Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record: you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

What do you mean you "started" doing this? You have been doing this for so long! I even join in when I'm with you. There is something almost ... liberating (?) about just saying ridiculous tasteless things, especially if you are with people who will reciprocate. Then again, I would not even consider doing that in front about 99% of people.

Yeah, for the third time..it depends on WHO it's with.
I know I'd personally take it as an offensive thing, not a "ha-ha, that was funny" way.

How do you stop a baby crawling in circles?
Nail it's other hand to the ground.

Personally I don't like vulgar jokes, I'm more of a really stupid joke person, i.e.

Two guys walked into a bar, you'd think the second guy would have ducked.

Those were pretty funny Jeff, but you really have to be careful about who you say those kinds of things to. Some people would be completely set off.

I knew someone who use to download video's of people killing theirselves... thought it was funny or so... also makes jokes about things like the World Trade Center... other horrible incidents... jokes around about killing and raping... wether it's a joke or not I find none of it amusing... I know that some people only joke around about things to try and offend people... it depends on who ure with while doing it... I'd knock the shit out of someone if they told me those jokes.
